The Public Services Commission has offered a new two-year final offer to government workers.
Manx.News understands the offer, shown to us by staff, was made yesterday.
In the email seen by Manx.News, the PSC has proposed a “final offer to increase the salary of PSC employees as follows: 2024/25 4% 2025/26 2.5%”.
It said: “These percentage increases would apply to allowances and local agreements, where these refer to payments being increased by the same percentage as the pay award.”
The PSC had favoured a three year deal, but this was overwhelmingly rejected by members of the Unite and Prospect unions.
It said that the change to a two-year deal is “less attractive” to the PSC as it makes it harder for it to make effective financial forward planning.
Annual Leave
In addition to the pay rise, the PSC is looking to “harmonise” the annual leave entitlement for all PSC staff who accrue ten years’ service.
This means that the annual leave entitlement for staff who have accrued ten years of service will increase from 28 days to 30 days per year. This would take effect from April 2025.
The PSC has also said it will agree to establishing a joint Working Group with Prospect and Unite the Union to look at “some of the broader and more complex issues in regard to PSC Terms and Conditions and PSC policies”.
It added: “Prospect and Unite have been advised of the PSC’s revised offer and the PSC would like Unions to progress to ballot.”
