An MHK has expressed their concern that announcements made at the Isle of Man Government Conferenced should’ve been made to Tynwald.
Although members of the house of keys had a briefing prior to the conference this hasn’t stopped the doubt in Rushen MHK Dr Michelle Haywood’s mind.
Haywood says she is concerned that there will be announcements at the conference that “perhaps should have been made to Tynwald rather than the Conference audience”.
She says: “t’s a dilemma for CoMin, wanting to use Conference to connect with people and to make announcements about progress and strategy vs proper parliamentary announcements of policies and developments”.
Haywood expects there will be a “flurry” of parliamentary questions to be asked after Conference concludes.
