The Irish Met Office, Met Éireann have named the latest unwelcome guest to hit the British Isles, Storm Kathleen.
Like seriously, Kathleen? What are you playing at it. It’s April for god sake; we are ready for nice crisp mornings, god forbid a bit of sun, the odd April shower, not a full blown storm.
It isn’t storm season, unless you’re into spirituality, then its also mercury retrograde – which, let me tell you, is one big fat storm. Apologies, I digress.
Storm Kathleen
The south west and west of Ireland have already been issued an orange weather warning for Saturday (April 6), whilst the UK Met Office has issued a yellow one.
The UK Met Office has issued it on Saturday between 9am and 10pm for Northern Ireland, southern Scotland and western parts of England and Wales.
Kathleen is forecast to bring strong winds to Ireland and much of the UK on Saturday, being at her worst around lunchtime.
Wind speeds are currently expected across the Isle of Man are in the region of 60mph.
Dry the ground, please Kathleen?
However, it may not be all bad news (drilling this to myself), there is actually not a lot of rain forecast (as of yet, don’t kill me if that changes) so Kathleen may be taking one for the team and dry out our sodden land.
Now, the Ronaldsway Met Office has cracked me up; so good on them!
It says Saturday will be ‘very windy’, but there will be sunny intervals.
Just thinking of all the bins/trampolines/cats flying through the sky, but hey, you’ll see then sun!
The Ronaldsway Met Office is forecasting gusts of 45-55mph through the morning, decreasing 25-35 gusting 35-40 overnight.
It is however pre-warning a risk of travel disruption and coastal overtopping at time of high tide.
This weather report has actually turned into a little rant, apologies, but if you’re sick of the weather you certainly are not alone.
