The RNLI’s One Crew pledge has been signed by the island’s RNLI volunteers.
Committing the charity’s volunteers to continuing its lifesaving work, it is being signed by volunteer across the UK and Ireland.
John Payne, Ruth Quillin-Creamer, Morgan Guy, Brian Kelly and Laura Cordner signed the pledge at Port St Mary’s lifeboat station before it was taken to the site of the former Castletown station.
The spindle attached to the scroll was made by the team at the All-weather Lifeboat Centre in Poole.
To commemorate the island’s prominent founding role in the RNLI’s history, technician boatbuilder David Martin crafted the spindle ends using a 19th-century flagpole from Ramsey’s lifeboat station.
The flagpole dates back to the early 1890s, when Ramsey’s Norbury Boathouse was built.
