This week I bring you a different intro to my weekend weather forecast, I’ve branched out to a friend for their view on the upcoming weather.
Yes, I could’ve got hold of a TT rider for the forecast, but I felt that was too predictable. Instead I went for one of the island’s media greats.
The Isle of Man’s answer to Clive Myrie. Weather fans, welcome, Sam Turton – on of your BBC Isle of Man correspondents.
Sam was formerly Gef, and was the genius behind every brilliant meme and breaking news story (conveniently the stories that broke right outside the Manx Arms…).
Here is Sam’s extensive thoughts on the upcoming weather, ‘I hope the weather isn’t too hot or too cold, not too wet or too dry.’
Very small risk of showers
Senior Race Day is a sensitive subject, to rain or not to rain, four laps or six, Bushy’s or Trackside?
I have no answers to any other than the weather, so I’ll let you debate the laps and the drinks, but I can confirm that it isn’t forecast to rain (too much)!
Sitting, waiting, wishing *insert Jack Johnson* that the forecast is true and we don’t have to endure any more race changes and everyone can get on their merry way.
The Ronaldsway Met Office forecasts today (June 8) to be generally fine and sunny with only a ‘very small risk of a shower’.
Fresh to strong west or northwest winds at first, these steadily easing as the day goes on, the maximum temperature 14C.
Sunday
Truth be told, I think that when this is published the weather forecast will have changed again.
As I skeet at forecasts, some forecast it to p**s it down tomorrow, but others say it’ll be grand and only isolated showers. So tbh, your guess, is as good as mine.
The Met Office says it’ll be mainly dry with bright or sunny intervals, with the risk of isolated showers.
Wind will be a W or SW 15-20 increasing 20 to 25 then veering NW and easing 10-15 overnight.
My friend, XC Weather says RAIN, misery and RAIN, but mainly in the afternoon.
Again, it will no doubt have changed its mind for the 467386 time this week, so God only knows.
Weather outlook
I predicted that once the racing was over, and as soon as race fans get on the golden ship back to the UK, the weather would pick up.
Currently, I’m not wrong – I see no rain.
Monday (June 10) is forecast to be dry and bright with sunny spells and a top temperature of 15C.
Wind will be a NW 10-15 increasing 20-25 in the afternoon.
Tuesday (June 11) will be dry with some sunshine and a NW wind of 15-20 occasionally 25.
Anyhow, let’s pray for some better beer drinking weather, that we may be able to cut some hay and that Jamie will get the proposal hint (GET ME A RING, I’m joking xxx I’m not).
