Arbory, Castletown and Malew MHK Tim Glover has tabled a motion of no confidence in Chief Minister Alf Cannan.
The Officer of the Clerk of Tynwald has confirmed it will be moved next Tuesday, October 29.
Mr Glover, in submitting his motion, said: “I realise this will be a non-statutory motion.”
Typically, a motion of confidence can only be taken in the entire Council of Ministers rather than the Chief Minister themselves.
Earlier today Onchan MHK Rob Callister invited constituents’ views on the matter.
He said: “As a member of the House of Keys, I find myself feeling disappointed about many of decisions taken by this administration.
“However, I am also deeply concerned about the potential consequences should a vote of no confidence be passed in the near future.
“Considering the limited time remaining in this administration, I genuinely struggle to see the benefits of removing the entire Council of Ministers at this stage.
“That said, my duty is to represent the views of my constituents. Therefore, I welcome your thoughts on this matter, as always.”
We have contacted Mr Glover and the government for comment.
