Manx Care Takes The Biscuit

A member of staff at Nobles Hospital has told Manx.News that employees could be “sacked” for eating food that was to be chucked away.

Staff employed by Manx Care have been informed they are not allowed to use any food items in the ward kitchen for their own use.

Employees were issued a ‘polite reminder’ on wards that “all food items in ward kitchens designated for patient use are not to be consumed by members of staff”.

Workers are also banned from using food items that are left over and going to be binned.

It includes food on the “regeneration trolley which is going to be disposed of”, such as biscuits, breakfast cereals, ice cream, milk, tea and coffee.

Manx.News has approached Manx Care for comment.
