Manx event rider Yasmin Ingham is in the top 10 after the dressage phase at the Longines Luhmühlen Horse Trials in Germany.
Ingham and her World Champion partner, Banzai du Loir, are competing in the hotly contested CCI 4*-S.
Finishing ahead of fellow Brit and Olympic hopeful Tom McEwen, Yas and Banzai are in 7th place with a score of 28.1.
The only British rider ahead of them is Laura Collett, and London 52 on 24.8.
There is less than four penalties between second and tenth place which will make for an exciting competition as they enter the jumping phases.
Luhmühlen Horse Trials
Yasmin is also contesting the CCI5*L on Rehy DJ, whom she was also longlisted for the Paris Olympics on.
Rehy DJ and Ingham currently sit in 28th place on 36.9 penalties.
With the competition in its first phase, it’s still very early for any finishing predictions, with a technical cross-country course to jump tomorrow and the final phase of showjumping on Sunday.
Olympics
In May, it was announced that Yasmin Ingham had secured an Olympic nomination on two horses.
British Equestrian and the British Eventing Selectors confirmed the 12 eventing athlete and horse combinations that will be submitted to the Fédération Equestre Internationale (FEI) as Great Britain’s nominated entries for the Paris 2024 Olympic Games.
The 27-year-old has been named as one of the 12 nominated entries for the Paris Games, on Janette Chinn and The Sue Davies Fund’s Banzai Du Loir and Rehy DJ.
Only the combinations who appear on the nominated entries list may be put forward to the British Olympic Association for selection to the Games.
