Airport Agrees Plan for Patient Transfer Room

Patients travelling through Liverpool’s airport will have a new room once the airport has completed its renovations of its departure lounge.

The welcome news comes after concerns the room was to be lost.

Charity organisers and campaigner Carole Male said she has spoken to the airport’s CEO John Irving saying it will look to put a temporary solution in place and create a new and suitable area for all patients to use.

Mannin Cancers Support Group said: “They are a few weeks away from getting into the detail of the design and will ensure that they can provide the right space that works.

“They also have planned a couple of temporary solutions while the areas are being constructed, while it will be temporary rest assured it will be private and setup to provide what is needed.

“It is likely that in 6-8 weeks we will transition from the current space to the new one so please let patients know that nothing will change before then and when it does the new space will be ready.

“THANK YOU Liverpool John Lennon Airport!”
